Lucky Day Studio, founded in 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio by partners Julia Briggs and Donna Catanese, is excited about the expansion of our print+pattern studio. Bringing creative energy and depth of experience from the social expressions industry, Julia and Donna are feeling lucky to debut exciting new work from handpicked artists in our 2014 Lucky Day line. We’re proud of our partnerships with companies showcasing our art on greeting cards, gift wrap, gift bags, party goods, fabric and home textiles.

As Luck would have it, Lucky Day will be attending Surtex 2013

Cleveland based Lucky Day Studio will be debuting new designs at SURTEX 2013 in New York City on May 19-21. They will be located in booth 325 in the Javits Center with over 200 pieces that combine whimsical line drawings, character development, unique subject matter and modern color combinations.

And luck has finally paid off for co-owners Donna Catanese and Julia Briggs. “It’s true what they say… it’s an honor just to be nominated,” says Donna. “We are thrilled to report that our greeting card design for Paper Magic was nominated for a 2013 Louie Award in the category of Children’s cards $3.50 and below. We are grateful to be in such amazing company with the other nominees - but secretly hoping we’re lucky enough to get a win.”

“Our customers challenged us this year with some extremely fun and unique subject material which inspired many of the new designs we’ll be showing in New York,” says Julia. You will definitely be rewarded for visiting Lucky Day Studio at Surtex Booth 325.

Sorry You're Happy is an art licensing & surface design studio made up of husband and wife illustrators Kyle Reed and Jen Hsieh. February 18, 2011 - Surtex Proves Lucky for Lucky Day Studio

Lucky Day Studio, a print and pattern studio based in Cleveland, wrapped up Surtex 2010 with several successful licensing deals, including agreements with Garven, Haynes Besco, and Robert Kaufman. Design Design, Inc, a social expressions company, developed Lucky Day’s signature piece into “Cupcake Crazy” and showcased the line, which included party goods, wrap, tissue, stationery and kitchen decor, at Surtex 2010.  Read the entire Press Release here>
